About us
We are a cultural association born to make art and culture accessible to everyone. Mademù is a hub for those eager to explore new forms of expression and actively participate in local cultural life.
We see culture as an open space where everyone can find inspiration, knowledge, and connection.
Mission
We believe culture is a right—and a tool for personal and collective growth.
We promote all forms of art as a way to foster inclusion, solidarity, equal opportunities, and respect for rights.
Our mission is to support access to the arts and live performance, creating experiences of connection, care, and responsibility toward the community.
Each of our initiatives is designed to foster awareness of active citizenship and to inspire lasting change within society.
Our territory
Our land is our cradle. We are all from Martina Franca, and we have consciously chosen to live here, inhabiting this land as a treasure to be protected and cherished.
For us, territory is more than landscape—it is memory, relationships, and possibilities.
It gives us energy and meaning to build perspectives to share with everyone who lives here today—and tomorrow.
Why Mademù
Our name blends two ideas: Martina and the Decima Musa (literally, “Tenth Muse”).
Martina Franca is our city, the root from which everything springs to life.
In antiquity, there were nine Muses, protectors of poetry, music, and knowledge. We imagined a Tenth Muse who stands for creativity, and all forms of expression that don’t yet have a name—new voices and ideas that deserve space, unexpected combinations.
Mademù is our way of saying: culture belongs to everyone, and everyone can take part of it.
